Aiwa Clock Radio FR-A5K

Aiwa Clock Radio FR-A5K

Here we review the Aiwa Clock Radio – model number FR-A5K from the early noughties. Does it do what it needs to? You bet it does!

As long as you get a decent signal in your area, the AM/FM radio will play well. Indeed, the quality of the sound is decent for the speaker size too. What else would you expect, coming from Aiwa?

The dual alarms work as they should and you can choose to wake with a buzzer or the radio. With a 9 volt battery back up, just in case of mains/power failure, the alarm should sound to wake you up on time.

The digital clock display is fine and not too bright, however, there is no dimmer. So, you will just have to get used to the screen as it is. But, like we say, it’s not too much of a problem.

The analogue radio works well, but modern radios are starting to incorporate DAB, so you should decide whether you need that addition before you buy this one.

To Sum Up

This radio alarm clock by market leader Aiwa works well, but you should decide if having DAB is worth having or if you just need a functioning bedroom radio alarm clock. If it is the latter, then you can’t go wrong with this model.
